The voluntary vision plan administered by Community Eye Care is employee-paid. For employer clients, fees are handled through payroll deduction. Once per month, CEC sends each employer an invoice based on the number of participating employees and the applicable plan. Many employer clients opt to place the CEC vision benefit under their Section 125 Plan so that employees can enjoy a pre-tax advantage.
Note that CEC has no minimum for employer size and no minimum level of participation within each employer group.
When vision plan members see their eye doctor, they are responsible only for the applicable co-pay and any expenditures above their eyewear allowance. There are no claims to file; the claims process is between the provider’s office and Community Eye Care.
